The West Virginia Division of Economic Development invites local economic development professionals to participate in a one-day On-boarding Orientation Program on June 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Whether you are new to the profession or looking to strengthen your understanding of the resources available at the state level, this program offers a valuable opportunity to connect with key economic development partners and gain insight into the programs and services that can support your community's growth and success.

Economic development is built on relationships, and successful projects often begin with strong connections to state agency partners. This orientation will introduce participants to the staff, programs, and resources available through the West Virginia Division of Economic Development, including business retention and expansion, business attraction, international business development, community development, broadband deployment, and small business support.

Participants will also learn about programs and services offered by other key state agencies, including the West Virginia Department of Highways, the West Virginia Economic Development Authority, the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, and the West Virginia Department of Revenue. These agencies play an important role in supporting local economic development efforts through infrastructure funding, project financing, permitting assistance, and tax incentive programs.
